Dress For The Weather, Not The Destination
As we enter May during this pandemic, you’ve probably noticed that the sun is staying out longer and the temperature is rising. Only problem? All this great weather and nowhere to go. But just because you can’t attend events or go out with friends doesn’t mean you shouldn’t be able to enjoy all the fun fashion that comes with warm weather. Here are some tips on dressing for the season and looking good while staying home!
Evergreen Button-Up Dress
You don’t have to worry about biting bugs or pesky mosquitoes because you’re stuck inside the house. So here is the perfect opportunity to show off your legs. As seen in the picture, I choose to wear a dark green mini dress. My legs have some breathing room, I get to show off my calves, and twirl around my living room in a dress that is light, breezy, and fun. The buttons at the top motivate me to do my office work as they give me professional, worktop vibes. To finish off the look, I added a pink and green headscarf. Headscarves used to be reserved to the home as a means of keeping our hair smooth and protected before we went outside. But they can also serve as a cute accessory to match our clothes. With the right headscarf you can make a fun fashion statement and protect your hair!
Floral Crop Top and Black Mini Skirt
Just because you aren’t going anywhere doesn’t mean you can’t wear fun clothes. The weather is warm so break out that loose fitting, floral top you’ve been waiting all year to wear. I paired this ribbon-tie crop top with a black crop top underneath to make a summer ensemble that is comfortable to wear indoors and makes me feel excited to get dressed for the day, even if it is being spent in my living room. The black mini skirt still allows my legs to be shown off without the fear of coming home with an endless amount of bug bites. The beige sandals I’m wearing really tie off the spring look and its neutral color can go with any outfit. Again, I’m wearing a scarf that has a multipurpose effect of matching my outfit and protecting my hair. Just another fun accessory to enjoy while indoors.
And if you really dig your fashionable ensemble but have nowhere to show it off, take a photoshoot on your porch or outside your house and post it on social media! Getting outdoors is good for the mind and body and will give you a similar feeling of showing off your spring outfit if everything was opened and we weren’t in a pandemic.
